15th december 2020: QMatrix donates to Child Protection Association Landau-Süw

Landau, 15th December 2020 – QMatrix makes a Christmas donation in the amount of 1.500 Euro to the children’s home Blauer Elefant of the Child Protection Association in Landau-SÜW.

The year 2020 has been a very difficult one for many. As a result of the corona pandemic, over 1.5 million people have died worldwide, over 69 million have fallen ill and existences in various business areas have been destroyed or are still threatened. In April 2020, QMatrix GmbH had already supported the German Red Cross (DRK) in Landau with a donation of 300 mouth and nose masks and 120 FFP2 masks.

Also the smallest in society are also badly affected by the crisis and suffered particularly from the restrictions of the lockdown in spring. According to a study by the Technical University (TU) of Munich on the experiences of women and children in Germany during the Corona period, children were violently punished in 6.5 percent of all households surveyed in times of contact restrictions. If children were in quarantine or the families had financial worries, this figure was as high as 10.5 percent.

"It's frightening to see how the propensity for violence against children has increased during this time and how much suffering there was in families," says Tobias Hoffmann, Managing Director of QMatrix GmbH. "We have therefore chosen the Blauer Elefant as a donation recipient. Under whose umbrella, affected children and their families receive support in our region."

For 30 years, the child protection service has been looking after children and adolescents who have experienced emotional, physical or sexual violence in the BLAUER ELEFANT children's home in Landau. “Those affected can find help with us in the form of individual counselling smaller groups. Examples of this are the “Open Meeting for Sexually Traumatized Girls” or children's groups on the subject of “Domestic Violence”. In addition, our employees accompany adolescents when a perpetrator is charged in court and train specialists from other child, youth welfare and educational institutions to deal with sexual abuse and child welfare ”, says Christin Arto from the executive board of the child protection association.

"In addition to the Christmas donation, QMatrix also supports the" Lebkuchenkinder "project run by the local baker Julier," says Stefano Lisci, managing director of QMatrix GmbH. "For every gingerbread sold, EUR 0.50 goes to the Child Protection Association, which financially supports its parent-child meeting. The “Lebkuchenkinder” are sent to our customers with other local products as a small Christmas greeting."

“We are an international consulting company and travel a lot around the globe. Therefore, from an economic point of view, the first half of the year 2020 was not an easy time for our employees and us,”says Stefano Lisci, Managing Director of QMatrix GmbH, explaining his experience with the corona pandemic. "Currently, the order situation has recovered and we are optimistic about the year 2021. We are therefore very pleased that we can continue to hold on to our traditional Christmas donation this year."
